Getting to Omata Estate |
Ranging from the renowned Syrah, the tantalising Merlot to a full-bodied Chardonnay, Omata’s premium wines carry what has become known as 'the distinctive taste of the Bay of Islands'.
Wine currently available in limited quantities:-
- 2004 Reserve Syrah. Extraordinary exotic nose, violets, oak, plum pepper and spice. Sweet rich fruit, long and supple, layered with a silken texture and a drying finish – a special occasion wine.
- 2005 Chardonnay. Described recently as an artisan wine, citrus and oak on the nose, golden full bodied with some butteriness. - 2008 Braggato Silver.
- 2004 Late Harvest Chardonnay. Boquet of peach and marmalade is complimented by a rich and generous palate, melon and grapefruit, a light golden colour.
- 2007 Rose. Made from Merlot, an attractive plumy bouquet, ripe cherry and raspberry.
